Eight New Levels in NA Version of Bangai-O Spirits

Shooters are another genre that don't get their due around here, basically because I am terrible at them. That isn't to say I don't appreciate a good shmup when it rolls into town, and Treasure's upcoming Bangai-O Spirits is looking very good indeed. Even better, it looks like you get rewarded if you didn't import an earlier version of the game from another territory. The word from Siliconera is that the North American version of the game is going to feature eight additional, exclusive levels.

In addition, here are some other NA version changes as reported by Siliconera:

  • Attract demo movie added.
  • Target enemies are now clearly identified by reticules placed over them.
  • Start button selects menu options from the pause menu.
  • Slightly different resolution. ("The Western version is a bit more zoomed in.")
  • Damage dealt by high-power explosions (as from mines and bombs) is reduced. In the NA version, touching one only costs you 1/3 of your health bar.
