Chronic Wii Fit Shortages Nationwide

Thinking of buying someone a Wii Fit sometime this holiday season? Don't, unless you want to turn it into a full-time job. On top of the still-ongoing (though less severe) Wii shortage, evidence has mounted that we're in the middle of a harshWii Fit shortage, too. As with the early Wii shortage, you can obtain them, but basically have to stalk local suppliers for days and weeks beforehand, and possibly show up for early-AM store openings.

The basic problem seems to be Nintendo manufacturing capacity relative to demand, once again. Getting Balance Boards made as far as people want to buy them seems to be a logistic impossibility at the moment, just as it was once impossible for Nintendo to manufacture Wiis as quickly as people wanted to buy them. Given that Nintendo's priority is obviously going to be getting more Wiis out there, though, I don't expect the Wii Fit shortage to ease up until about a year so - around the time I expect Nintendo to finally be able to meet Wii demand on a regular basis.
