It annoys me to no end that a game that should be a DS classic, Meteos, is pretty much impossible to find now unless you get lucky on e-bay or second-hand stores. The first thing Buena Vista Games did once they bought out Q Entertainment was issue a horribly ugly Disney-branded version of the title, which is of course the only version that you can easily find in stores right now.
So, some good news: if you want to play Meteos but can't find it for your DS, you will be able to get it for Xbox Live Arcade come this October. Q Entertainment is going to issue a remade Meteos there with all the usual 720p resolution, new graphics, and Achievement goodies 360 gamers expect. Better yet, since it's a download game, chances are it won't disappear six months after its initial release.
Bad news: Meteos was a game really designed around the DS's touchscreen, especially the use of the stylus. Trying to play the game with the d-pad was an exercise in sadness and failure. Given how lousy the 360's d-pad is already, trying to use it to play Meteos could just be an exercise in heartbreak.
