Nintendo to Offer Replacement Codes for Wii Speak Channel, But...

So Nintendo has decided to take mercy on second-hand buyers of Wii Speak, offering free Wii Speak channel replacement call for anyone who needs tHA HA PSYCHE.
Read the gameindustry.biz story carefully, people. Yes, Nintendo's offered replacement codes to Wii Speak buyers... who "lost" their code, or who had to have their Wii replaced under warranty. So if you buy your Wii second-hand and want access to the Wii Speak Channel, you will have to to the trouble of dealing with Nintendo Customer Service and lying about how you lost the Wii Speak Channel code that you never actually had.
Otherwise, Nintendo still hates you and you are still boned.

Nintendo has not clarified if the Activation code will be available to any users who purchase a second-hand Wii Speak peripheral.
