Legacy of Ys I&II to Feature Updated Localization
Nov. 26I'm sure some of you out there scoffed when you saw this press release doing the rounds. Why spend $34.99 on Atlus's new Legacy of Ys I & II DS when you can snag the same game on Virtual Console for about $8? While Interchannel-Holon's ports of the original Falcom games do add new features, none of them individually are deal-makers.
Ah, but Atlus is adding a feature that is a deal-maker: a new localization. See, the Ys I & II on Virtual Console has a localization dating from the dark days of 1990. While the translation is not really especially bad by the standards of the time, it's still kinda...
... yeah, you want to play Ys with the new Atlus localization. Trust me on this one.
