Unreal Engine 3 coming to Wii

The guys at Epic Games are really great, but you can bet this is the last website where I thought I'd be blogging about what they're up to. The FPS titles they specialize in are pretty much the opposite of what most Wii gamers want, and the Wii basically the opposite of hardware that fits their development strengths.

That said, this interview has one question's worth of gold for Wii users: confirmation that some Epic licensee is trying to get Unreal Engine 3 onto the Wii. There's also some interesting discussion about Wii development vs. Epic's usual stuff, and if you happen to be interested in the PS3, a lot of discussion about how Unreal Tournament 3 is going to be working on that system.

Now, just because this is a good interview, I wouldn't start getting your hopes up for an Unreal Tournament-caliber game on the Wii. Aside from the obvious indifference toward working with the system Epic evinces in the interview, we don't know anything about the licensee doing the conversion or, more importantly, what game they're doing to for. Ubisoft has already brought Epic's Unreal Engine 2 to the Wii, and... well, it didn't have the greatest results.
