Ah, I love a little controversy. First, let's start off with the Associated Press's Worst Games of 2007 list, which is really not too different from most other lists in that vein I've seen. (It is written in a weird, gossip-columny style, though.) Check behind the cut to see what they had to see about Nintendo... and who thought this list was a flaming piece of crap.
1. "Manhunt 2": Rockstar Games' strategy offend the watchdogs, reap the publicity, then sell a substandard product reached its nadir with this ugly, unplayable mess. It begins with a lunatic flinging human waste at you; after about an hour, you'll want to fling "Manhunt 2."
3. "Deal or No Deal": It couldn't be simpler. You pick one of 26 briefcases and gamble on whether it contains a lot of money. But the DS "Deal or No Deal" doesn't even get the gameplay right, and is even more sluggishly paced than the TV show. For $30, no deal.
5. "Escape from Bug Island!": Kill giant insects (cool!) ... by poking them with sticks (wha?). "Bug Island" could have been campy fun, but its annoying characters, inane plot and wretched graphics destroy any desire to keep playing.
Okay, now things get interesting. Shortly after the AP list starting appearing in newspapers and getting linked around the intertron, Opposable Thumbs did a piece specifically about how it wasn't very good.
The problem with lists like these is that they tend to contain recent games, and they tend to be made up of games the writer is tired of hearing about, not the actual worst games. Luckily, most of the real stinkers didn't get much press. Somehow, I can't find it in myself to complain.
What is sort of interesting to me about Opposable Thumbs's complaint is that they didn't do what I would've done-- retaliated with a list of the five games that were actually the worst things published in 2007. Actually...
Hey, Sardius? Want to write a list? It's right up your alley...

Don't tempt me. I'll murder everyone else's list.
I know.
Seriously. 5 worst Wii and 5 worst DS. You know you want to write it.
...and WE want to read it. ^_^
DO IT
Seriously, the guy couldn't come up with something not completely generic and phoned-in to say about Escape From Bug Island! How is that possible?
Also Deal or No Deal is $20 at most places, and that's an odd game to pick anyway. Hell I could make a better list, and I hate lists :D
