Have you ever played Peggle? If not, then for the love of God, don't. It will destroy basically all of your free time until you've at least chewed through adventure mode. It's an insanely fun game, and deserves all the praise heaped on it last year. As with all successful games, the porting phase has begun, with a version available for the iPod and one headed to XBLA later this year.

Pocketgamer UK reported that PopCap co-founder Jon Vechey confirmed a version of Peggle headed for the Nintendo DS at the Casual Connect conference ongoing in Amsterdam, thereby assuring that nobody would ever accomplish anything anywhere. As soon as this news started doing the rounds, though, PopCap's VP of Video Game Platforms, Greg Canessa, issued a statement denying that a DS version was actually greenlit.

It's Rock Band for Wii all over again! Chances are we will see the DS among the many future ports of Peggle, causing an immediate economic recession. We just aren't sure when it'll happen yet. Invest in bottled water and canned goods, folks.
