Load Wii Homebrew Quick and Easy with Homebrew Channel

This was reported by numerous sources earlier this week, and it sounds like the Wii is getting closer to being a homebrew console lover's dream. Team Twiizers, who pioneered the famous Twilight Princess hack, have now figured out a way to make the Wii accept homebrew without having to run the Twilight Princess swap trick every single time.

It's done via the Homebrew Channel, which you can set up on your Wii by running the Twilight Princess swap trick exactly once. After that, the Homebrew Channel loads homebrew apps off of your SD cards automagically... for ten minutes.

Yeah, the Homebrew Channel isn't ready for prime time yet, and the release is just a demo. At this rate, though, we'll probably have a working Homebrew Channel inside of a year. Could the Wii then see an explosion of awesome homebrew apps the way the DS has? We can only hope. For now, here's instructions if you want to play around with ten minutes of the Homebrew Channel yourself.
