Anascape, Ltd. is a small east Texas gaming company famous for filing a suit in 2006 against both Nintendo of America and Microsoft. The lawsuit claims that the controllers for a variety of both companies' systems infringe upon roughly twelve of their patents.
A federal jury has finally issued a verdict in the case (which Microsoft opted to settle), and has found Nintendo infringed upon Anascape patents with the WaveBird, GameCube, and Wii Classic controllers. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk, also a point of contention in the suit, were found not to infringe.
Don't think Anascape is getting a payout yet, though. Nintendo, of course, plans to appeal the decision and is going to try to reduce the amount they have to award to Anascape. This probably won't be fully settled for years. In the meantime, you can check out the Associated Press coverage of the story, or browse the legal documents filed in the case by all parties.
