Nyko is probably the single best third-party manufacturer of Wii accessories, so today's news that Nintendo is suing Nyko over one of its products is slightly baffling.
The product in question is the wireless Kama Nunchuk. Nintendo has decided that the Kama is too similar to the official Nunchuk, and so infringes their copyrights. To quote Bloomberg's original report:
The Nyko product "wholly appropriates the novel shape, design, overall appearance and even the color and materials used in the Nintendo Nunchuk controller,'' Nintendo said in the federal court complaint, filed June 10 in Seattle.
The full details of the suit are, of course, unknown to a reporter of little stature like myself. Still, I can't help but get the feeling that Nintendo is really suing Nyko because they had the audacity to make a controller that's 100% better than Nintendo's official Nunchuk.

Or rather, I'd like to think they sued cause Nyko brought it out first. They seem to be so dead set on holding releases back, that they'd rather deprive the fanbase of something that should have already been available.
Honestly, I hope Nintendo loses this one.
