It was a given once word spread Konami was making it, but now it's officially here for American release: The super-cute Wii title Elebits, which I am a lesser person for having not played yet, is getting a Nintendo DS sequel despite shaky sales. Maybe we'll be seeing a Zack & Wiki DS title before too long at this rate.
The new Elebits is called, in full, Elebits: the Adventures of Kai and Zero. Right now the press release's description of the gameplay makes it sound almost exactly like the original Elebits, where you needed to catch electicity spirits called Elebits and use their powers to solve various puzzles and problems. The only real difference appears to be the inclusion of some sort of multiplayer mode there's no solid info on yet.
Still, given the kind of affection people have for the Wii's Elebits, the DS sequel seems to be off to a good start. Stay tuned for more information as it surfaces, and maybe we'll get to see this one in more detail next week at E3. For now, check behind the cut for the full press release.
